The journey of our laundry services reflects our adaptability and commitment to meeting community needs, while providing meaningful paid work for adults living with disability.
It all began in 1999 when the Hastings Foundation acquired an existing self-serve laundry in the Clifton Drive Shopping Centre. Initially offering Wash, Dry, and Folding services, we soon expanded to include ironing as well.
In 2005, we relocated to Short Street, continuing operations under the Hastings Foundation name. A few years later, in 2008, we rebranded as the Willing & Able Foundation, maintaining the same reliable services.
During this time, we also introduced an Op Shop at the front of the laundry, creating a unique space that combined practical services with affordable shopping.
In 2019, we faced some unplanned challenges, however thanks to the support of our largest customer, Expressway Spares, we were able to establish our commercial laundry at the Foundation’s Jindalee Road location, and continue operation.
This led to the establishment of our commercial laundry at the Foundation’s Jindalee Road location.
Today, the commercial laundry is a cornerstone of Willing & Able’s mission, delivering outstanding service to our clients while creating meaningful paid employment opportunities.
