Commencing with the opening of a school for intellectually disabled children in Wauchope in 1966, we were originally known as Q Robin. Sometime later, a need to cater to adults was realised and resulted in the opening of a sheltered workshop/activity training centre in 1975 in Port Macquarie.
In 1984 we became part of the Challenge Foundation of NSW, and in 1986 the Disability Services Act was introduced, which gave our organisation a new strength to create public consciousness and promote awareness of our services.
A focus on supported employment for adults with intellectual disability saw the development of Jindalee Enterprises and Workteams. Various business entities were born over the following years, and our goal was always to grow the businesses and increase awareness of our mission. We were constantly striving to educate the community and encourage acceptance and inclusion.
In 1992 we evolved to become the Hastings Foundation Limited, and in 2007 yet another name change saw the emergence of Willing & Able Foundation Limited. This included a new logo design which has given us the memorable local brand we know today.
